MAJOLICA FROM THE ETHNOGRAPHIC COLLECTION OF THE NATIONAL MUSEUM UŽICE

Near the National Museum of Užice, on two occasions, in 1974 and 1982, finds of dishes that certainly belonged to one of the wealthy Ottoman families from the 17th or 18th century were discovered. Among the found objects are those that originate from the most important centers for the production of luxury dishes at the time – precious Chinese porcelain dishes, sumptuous Turkish majolica from Iznik and elegant Italian jugs. Of particular note are the examples of Italian late Renaissance “deruta” majolica, with decorative motifs inspired by Raphael’s paintings.

We invite you to take a closer look at these exceptional objects through a 3D view and discover the beauty hidden in every detail.
